Some Advice on Choosing Your ArtistIf we may, we would like to suggest some guide lines to assist you in picking an appropriate artist for your project. It doesnt matter if you use us or other artists, these guide lines will help assure you of a completed project you will be happy with.It has been our experience that most people will be looking for an artist to fit their budget. We suggest that you interview your prospects, and find the finest quality and workmanship first. Then consider the personality of the artist and make a decision on how easy they will be to work with. Once you have made your first and second choices in each category, meet with the first artist and lay out your budget restraints and the basic design guide lines. Then see if they can create satisfactory designs within your budget. The design stage is the second longest time factor in most projects. That's because it may take as many as three or four sets of drawings to meet your design requirements and still stay within your budget. This, coupled with the logistics of getting all of the committee members together at one time tends to drag things out, so providing more design information to the artist up front will definitely speed things up. If you follow these guidelines, you should have a fine craftsmen for your stained glass project. On a final note, quiz the artist as to the cost incurred for their time if they do not end up to be the final vender. Also determine if you own the drawings made to date, and if there is a cost involved. Just so there are no surprises later. We hope this will be of some help in your search. We look forward to meeting you. Thanks again.
